You have various accommodation options at the Hurricane Festival. You will find an overview under “Residence”.
...disposal – the mobile waste deposit
Save yourself from going to the recycling station and receive your waste deposit directly from the refuse collectors! Our tractors, 4x4 flatbed trucks and quads go around the whole grounds all day from Friday to Monday, and will collect your waste. So: “Make way and give us your rubbish!”
...islands – Give us your rubbish!
All across the grounds we will give you the opportunity to dispose of your waste comfortably nearby. To this end, we will set up more than 20 waste islands on the festival grounds. So, one again: “Give us your rubbish!”
...deposit – only a full rubbish bag is worth cash!
When booking a ticket, every festival visitor pays a waste deposit of 10 €. Once again this year, when you hand in a full rubbish bag to the recycling station, you will get your deposit back, already during the festival.
You don’t have enough rubbish for a full sack!? No problem, we do. Just take something from our piles of rubbish on the grounds, and you will get your deposit back!
The sanitary facilities on the campsites have showers and flushing toilets. In addition, mobile toilets are also available. You will find the locations of the sanitary facilities on the site map. The use of all sanitary facilities on the campsite and festival grounds is free of charge.
TINNED FOOD – COLLECTION CONTAINER
In recent years we have noticed that many visitors leave food behind on the campsite when they depart. This year, for the sixth time, there will be a collection point for tinned food.
We would be happy if you could place any excess tinned food into one of the containers provided. The food collected will then be donated to a local charity (Tafel e.V.), which will distribute the foody among the needy.
Please note that Tafel e.V. may accept only preserved, sealed foodstuffs.
You will find the collection point for tinned food beside the waste deposit point. Many thanks for your help!
CAMPER VANS / CARAVANS (EAST & WEST)
Camper vans, caravans and self-designed sleeping vehicles require a camper sticker in order to gain access to the separate caravan campsite. This sticker costs 40 Euro per vehicle ("sleeping van”, not car-drawn vehicles). This forgery-proof sticker can be bought in advance only online via this site or by telephone from FKP Scorpio Konzertproduktionen GmbH 01806 - 853 653 (0.20 €/per call from a fixed line, mobile charges max. 0.60 €/per call). Please note when ordering the separation between the caravan spaces EAST (for all campers from the direction of Hanover) and WEST (for all campers from the direction of Hamburg and Bremen).
A camper van is a vehicle that provides fixed sleeping and living space in accordance with the number of passengers in the vehicle.
A caravan is a trailer that is permitted on public roads, which provides fixed sleeping and living space in accordance with the number of passengers in the drawing vehicle.
THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES ARE NOT PERMITTED
A nine-seater with 9 passengers, combis such as a Passat, Laguna, etc. with more than 2 passengers, VW Polos, etc.
THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES ARE PERMITTED
Combis with two persons and the requisite fittings (where applicable, also temporary), car with caravan, car with a trailer containing the requisite fittings (where applicable, also temporary).
TENTS / PAGODAS
ONE awning or ONE pagoda is allowed on the camper van. Small or large tents with additional sleeping space are not permitted. Security will check compliance with this rule strictly, in order to guarantee sufficient space for all camper sticker holders. The total length of the vehicles is limited to 11 metres and the permitted weight is restricted to 3.5 t. In the case of a caravan, the drawing vehicle must be attached to the caravan the whole time, in order to be able to manoeuvre at any time.
RULES WHEN PURCHASING
Due to the limited number of caravan spaces at the festival, we can offer maximal 1 camper sticker per 2 festival tickets purchased. We ask for your understanding.
Since it is not possible to check the camper van when the ticket is being purchased, we reserve the right to refuse access to vehicles to the intended space if they do not comply with the above rules. The cost of the purchase camper sticker will not be refunded in such a case.
Motorbike riders may use the caravan spaces free of charge (i.e. may park their bike next to their tent).
GRÜNER WOHNEN (GREENER LIVING)
Those who appreciate some calm and cleanliness while enjoying rock ‘n’ roll on the grounds can stay in our greener living section (Grüner Wohnen) at the Hurricane. This is an enclosed area that aims to give visitors with an environmentally friendly attitude the possibility to sleep in a quiet and clean space. Grüner Wohnen is essentially self-regulating. Every visitor who values the criteria listed above may register for a tent pitch in this area and, upon presentation of the printed form, will receive the respective allocation when entering the festival. Any gross infringements of the prevailing philosophy will lead to visitors losing their access rights, and they will then be redirected to the normal campsite.
With your registration, you have access to the Grüner Wohnen grounds – free of charge, naturally! Keep your ticket number to hand, which can be found on the ticket beside/beneath the large bar code. Each green camper must have their own form for the festival. Prior to entering the Grüner Wohnen grounds you will then receive an additional wristband that will allow you access to Grüner Wohnen.
Registration for the Grüner Wohnen camp 2017 is planned for January / February 2017.
Naturally, the MEIN-ZELT-STEHT-SCHON offer also applies here.
Here is some information on our Grüner-Wohnen philosophy:
Excessively loud voices are just as much a taboo here as noisy souvenirs from the stadium or party mile, which is also true of high-wattage stereo devices – after all, the ears need a bit of a rest after such a busy day. That doesn’t mean it has to be as quiet as the grave here; jolly conversation and music-making should simply be kept at a volume that is tolerable to the neighbours.
Some people seem to believe that making an extensive mess around their tent and the surrounding area is all part of their freedom. We don’t actually condone that anywhere, but we can only restrict it to a limited degree on the campsite. In the Grüner Wohnen area the detritus of wealth should not lie around the place, but should instead be thrown into the intended containers.
It is already implied in the above paragraphs and indeed should apply to life in general, but it is worth emphasising here: The festival should be as pleasant as possible for all who attend. Take the time to look to your left and right – after all, you also desire the same degree of consideration from your neighbour.
Dos & Don'ts
The risk of injury from glass bottles is extremely high, and we want to prevent serious wounds.
- Tents and tent material
- Tent accessories such as camping chairs, camping tables, a normal pavilion (3x3 metres) per camp (applies to roughly 10 persons – if larger groups are camping together, more pavilions are allowed accordingly)
- Disposable barbecues, small tripod barbecues, charcoal lighter
- Gas cooker with gas banisters (canisters up to max. 450 g)
- Drinks casks (up to 5 litres), cans, plastic bottles, TetraPak cartons
- Glass bottles / glass containers
- Large gas bottles
- Unreasonable structures such as party tents or similar
- Furniture such as sofas, armchairs, large tables
- Building materials, bulky refuse
- Power generators, electricity units, external car batteries
- (Car) trailers
- Dry ice
- Liquid barbecue lighter
- Megaphones, laser pointers
- Firearms, knives, daggers and weapons of any kind
- Saws, axes, hatchets and similar tools
- Fireworks, sparklers, catapults and other pyrotechnical items of any description (incl. Bengal Fire)
- Animals of all kinds
Open fires are strictly forbidden on the entire grounds!
Exceptions are camping cookers and barbecues. Please ensure in these cases that a sufficient distance is maintained to adjacent tents. Please do not even consider cooking inside your tent. That’s really dangerous! For the camping barbecue, small (disposable) gas canisters up to 450 g are permitted. However we reserve the right to withdraw this permission if we observe any misuse of the canisters and thus a risk to life or limb. Dry barbecue lighters are allowed, don’t even think about bringing liquid barbecue lighters!
BENGAL FIRE / PYROTECHNICS
It is forbidden to bring and/or set off Bengal or any other fireworks! Infringements will be punished at least with the yellow ribbon. The yellow ribbon means being banned from entering the event grounds until the following day. This ribbon may also be exchanged for a festival wristband after successful participation in an instruction at the time marked on the ribbon.
Those who want to camp together should arrive together and set up the tents together. Please understand that Security is not responsible for placing acquainted groups together on the campsite, but instead must take care of organisational matters such as emergency escape routes. Camping space is limited, so that it is unfortunately necessary to position the tents as closely and logically as possible. Important! The emergency escape routes must be kept clear.
